Apprenticeships & Traineeships
ITEC North East have been delivering training throughout the region for over 30 years and currently deliver apprenticeships and traineeships. As an Ofsted Grade 2 provider we are acknowledged as delivering good quality service across our range of occupational areas. ITEC North East is a not-for-profit independent training provider with registered charitable status. ITEC NE was established in 1982 originally based in Newton Aycliffe and now operating from three training centres in Newton Aycliffe, Middlesbrough and Gateshead.
Apprentices, as employees, earn a wage and work with existing staff gaining specific job related skills. Throughout their time on programme our apprentices are supported by a dedicated ITEC WBL Tutor to ensure they receive the guidance and training necessary to become a valued employee gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
Traineeships are a government funded initiative launched to address issues relating to successfully gaining employment and training. For many young people, the step from school to work can be quite daunting, submitting applications and preparing for interviews. Traineeships provide a progressions route into apprenticeships and jobs for young people motivated by work.
Functional Skills for Life
Functional skills equip learners with the basic practical skills required in everyday life, education and in the workplace. Training can offer a flexible method of learning to provide a nationally recognised certificate in adult literacy and numeracy. For information please contact:-
Every learner is fully supported throughout their qualification by a highly experienced ITEC tutor who arranges regular visits to carry out observations, hold question and answer sessions, professional discussions, assess work and agree future action plans. In addition learners can access resources via ITEC’s e-learning facilities.
We are committed to the principles of equal opportunities in employment and training. We strive to ensure equality of access to all training and employment opportunities.
