As employers invest in new technology, their employees must utilise and adapt their IT skills to meet the demands of the 21st century office environment. Demonstrating the ability to be flexible and adaptable in the use of IT on a day-to-day basis will meet the needs of an IT User Apprenticeship. Research shows that more than 90% of new jobs in the UK require the use of IT.

Apprenticeships are designed to provide young people with the skills and expertise needed by employers in business and industry. With around 77% of the UK's 27 million strong workforce using IT as part of their day-to-day work, IT User skills are more important than ever Learners have a wide variety of areas to work in:- Using IT Systems - Using IT to find and exchange information - Using IT Productivity tools and applications. A choice of units include:- IT Security for Users; Audio Software; Presentation Software and Word Processing Software. Whether working for a large organisation or a small local business, an Apprentice will develop skills which are in demand including - Accounts & Banking; Design & Print; Arts & Media; Retail & Logistics; IT Helpdesk & IT Trainer or Administrator /Secretarial/PA.
