Reduncancy turns to Relief
Julie Temple found herself in this situation towards the end of 2011 and was determined to pull out all the stops and ensure she re-entered the job market with as little delay as possible.
Redundancy can be a traumatic and stressful experience, creating doubt and uncertainty for even the most self-assured and positive of individuals facing difficult decisions to get their careers back on track.Julie's previous long term employment ensured she had exactly the skills required by potential employers but unfortunately not having relevant, up-to-date qualifications and certificates was a massive stumbling block for potential employers.Using her own initiative and accepting the financial implications, Julie realised Key Skills qualifications would totally endorse her work-based abilities, bring her CV up-to-date and be recognised by employers. Key Skills give recognition to - Communication; Application of Number; Information and Communication Technology; Working with Others; Improving own Learning and Performance and Problem Solving, all skills crucial in the workplace."I contacted ITEC North East for advice and without their helpful and informative telephone calls and emails I doubt I'd have had the confidence to commit my personal time and finances to start any type of training. With their re-assurance I agreed to attend ITEC's Newton Aycliffe training centre and in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere I really enjoyed the course, produced a portfolio of evidence and even though I was really nervous when it came to the online tests for each Key Skill, I passed which was so rewarding. I have started a new job in the New Year and I would certainly highly recommend anyone in similar circumstances contact ITEC to gain Key Skill qualfications and really help improve their job prospects.View or download a copy of Incentives Edition 25 to read stories from each of our 3 training centres at Gateshead, Newton Aycliffe and Middlesbrough.
