Apprentice Courtney Varley receives Employee of the Month Award

Hartside Primary School has been nominated by Dawn Skelton, Work Based Learning Tutor for both the Employer Recognition Award and the Employee Recognition Award.  Courtney Varley commenced her Intermediate Business Administration Apprenticeship in May 2016 with Dawn as her tutor and has progressed amazingly, she strives to complete all actions on her monthly action plans to an exemplary standard.   Courtney has been nurtured in her job role by Kay Lee and has come on in leaps and bounds. She has been given additional responsibilities and is hoping to progress to an Advanced level after completion of her Intermediate framework.  Courtney commented as follows:

“My name is Courtney and I am doing the Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship, which will then develop on to my Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship thanks to the support I have received from my Line Manager Kay and the support from my Tutor Dawn. I could not have gotten this far without them! The support and encouragement from them both has been astonishing!

I am thoroughly enjoying my apprenticeship within the school and I look forward to my Level 3 Apprenticeship. The people around me within the school support me 100% and aren’t just colleagues, they are more like friends that I know I can count on! The whole school is polite, respectful and understanding and I couldn’t thank them all enough for making me feel like a part of the team whilst I am developing my skills and knowledge.

I could not have achieved this award without the help and support from Dawn, she is always at the other end of the phone/email whenever I am in need of a hand and always encourages me with my work and making it the best it can be!

From being little, I have always dreamed of working in a school and thanks to ITEC North East, I have been able to achieve this goal”courtney varley
