A brief overview of the role

Working in a busy Technical department that supports over 500 sites nationally. The role involves supporting a wide aspect of ICT related issues with a focus on hardware & infrastructure. An exciting opportunity for the right candidate who is willing to learn & work hard to pursue a hardware-focused career in IT

 

Vacancy description

  • Troubleshooting and resolving everyday hardware problems, and working closely with software IT Support team to provide a first class service to over 500 sites and over 2000 individual computers
  • Supported rollout and management of new hardware
  • Management of Active Directory Users & Computers & associated technologies
  • Assistance in developing new technical solutions within the company
  • To undertake any other duties that may fall into the job criteria
  • Some aspects of software understanding will be required at times to assist in primary workload
  • To treat all employees, customer and suppliers with dignity and respect

  • To conform with all company policies and procedures including Health and Safety
  • A basic understanding of, or desire to learn,  key hardware components within a computer
  • Practical experience of, or desire to learn, Microsoft Windows 7 & 10
  • A basic understanding of, or desire to learn, Microsoft based networking technologies is required, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS etc. & the physical aspects of such networks
  • A basic understanding of, or desire to learn,  ICT hardware troubleshooting

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Focused & able to work competently alone or within a team
  • Ability to act on own initiative and prioritise workload with confidence in your own decision making
  • Willingness to learn new software applications and processes when necessary
  • Able to apply an analytical thought process & adapt troubleshooting accordingly
