Company Director, Andy Colville and apprentice Jake Palliser have both received ITEC Achievement Awards in recognition of their joint commitment and persistence in overcoming a number of challenges to ultimately achieve benefits personally and commercially.
Applying to ITEC straight from school at 16, Jake’s details were passed to Darlington based Mortgage Service Centres and with a genuine interest in maths this offered a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the financial sector, learning from an experienced team whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification in Business Administration.
Andy recognised Jake’s potential and agreed a suitable job description covering a range of tasks and responsibilities which would benefit the business and develop Jake’s future prospects. In addition to his academic strengths, Jake also demonstrated personal qualities such as strong communication skills and working as part of a team gained from his membership of the Army Cadet Force.
Due to a number of personal issues there have been times when, had it not been for Andy’s constant support, Jake could have lost his apprenticeship and he fully appreciates how everyone involved at Mortgage Service Centres have been there for him. Jake is making excellent progress with his apprenticeship and has recently received the National Cadet Outstanding Achievement Award – congratulations.
