Learner Award – Elliott Sweeten
Employer Award – Rockliffe Hall Michael Parkin
Elliott Sweeten and Michael Parkin were nominated for the awards by tutor Dawn Skelton.
This is an extract from Elliot’s latest review which his Manager, Michael Parkin, completed:
“Elliot has progressed really well since the last review. He has taken on more responsibility for different systems around the hotel and has gained a greater understanding of how these work in doing so.He is really keen to develop his skills and research things that he doesn’t understand or know much about. Elliot has become a key member of the IT team, his personality and character keep the maintenance team on their feet – The office isn’t the same when he isn’t here! A massive well done on the work you have done so far and for meeting all expectations for the qualifications you have been working towards – Your success is very well deserved!”
Elliot completed and passed Level 1 Maths after attending off the job training sessions with Derek, ITEC’s specialist Maths Tutor and has now progressed to Level 2 and is hoping at some point in the future to complete a GCSE. He is a regular attendee at the off the job Cisco sessions and currently has 100%attendance; he is a well liked member of the group.
Dawn Skelton also recommended Rockliffe Hall for the Employer award.
“I originally met Michael Parkin in his previous employment as IT Manager at Harrow Gate Primary School in Stockton, where I had a learner enrolled on the IT Practitioner level 3 framework. Michael accepted a new job role at Rockliffe Hall as the IT Manager and was instrumental in ensuring that ITEC were assigned as the company to provide and support an apprentice due to the rapport we built up with the school and himself in his previous job role and also the breadth of the qualification offered which included Off The Job Training and monthly visits from the WBL Tutor.
Michael has nurtured and supported Elliot, he has provided him with constructive feedback in his job role and acted as a mentor to assist Elliot in developing his knowledge and skills in providing support to both staff and customers at the busy hotel. Rockliffe Hall has extended his apprenticeship so that he will be able to convert from his level 2 framework to level 3 upon completion of his ITP level 2 framework.”
Tracy Wilson, Managing Director of ITEC, was delighted to present the awards on behalf of ITEC.
