The Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) is an ESF programme that aims to support unemployed individuals between the ages of 15 and 29 into employment or training. This support is tailored to the needs of every individual and can be accessed completely free of charge. The two support programmes that are part of our Youth Employment Initiative are Pathways and Routeways.
The Tees Valley Pathways & Routeways Programmes are part-funded by the European Social Fund and supported under the Youth Employment Initiative.
Enhance your future with our Pathways Programme. Educational and employment opportunities are available which will inspire and support you to progress into employment. You will gain new skills, develop your CV, improve your confidence whilst enhancing your personal, social and employability skills.
Need help in securing your dream job? Our Routeways Programme is for you.
Designed in partnership with local employers we offer employment in priority sectors. Specific training is also available in areas in which you can find employment.
As part of the programme, we can also purchase items essential to achieving employment. This can include interview clothes, travel expenses and accredited training qualifications necessary to help you achieve your employment goals.
Any client that is part of our Youth Employment Initiative programme also has access to short courses that are run by ITEC North East. These courses include IT, Occupational Studies, Health & Safety as well as Health & Wellbeing.
Additional: The criteria in order to be eligible for the programme is that you are between the aforementioned age range, currently living in the Tees Valley area, not in any form of education, employment or training, and not currently accessing any other ESF funded programme.
